FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I actually place an
order for pharmaceuticals and have it shipped directly to me?
We have been informed
that many consumers have successfully ordered pharmaceuticals, for
their own personal use, from the foreign pharmacies in the Mexican
Pharmacy List and have received their shipments without any
problems. We do not, however, offer any opinion as to the legality
or medical prudence of such practices. You should always consult
with your own legal and medical advisors regarding any of these
matters.
Can I really order
Medications without a prescription?
Keep in mind that it is
illegal to possess prescription medications without a prescription
in the US. Most foreign pharmacies will ship medications
without a prescription though. The FDA allows a 90-day
supply of medication to be imported from foreign pharmacies
without a prescription. (This just means you don't have to
have a prescription to purchase the Meds... you still have to have
one to possess them.)
Are medicines less
expensive than in the USA?
Generally, yes.
Especially after you throw in the cost of a doctor's visit.
Savings will vary but prices could be at least 25% less than in
the USA. Antibiotics are usually 50% less. People can easily save
$200 or more a month. That's a lot of savings for an investment of
only $12.97 for our e-mail Mexican Pharmacy List.
Can I get pain killers like
Vicodin or Percodan without a prescription?
Yes. There are pharmacies
on our list that legally sell Hydrocodone and Oxycodone outside
the country without a prescription. These medications will
probably be more expensive as they are difficult to get.
Are other diet aids
available without prescription?
Yes. In Mexico alone,
several kinds of diet aids are sold over-the-counter legally
without a prescription including, Xenical, Meridia, Phentermine,
Anfepramona and many, many others.
Is your list up-to-date?
It sure is. We go down to
Mexico a number of times a year and visit the pharmacies on our
list to see how they are doing and to verify information.
Is buying medicine from
Mexican pharmacies safe?
For years millions of
Americans have crossed the border to buy medicine in Mexico
without incident. Many of the same brand names available in the
USA are sold abroad for less money. The only risk we envision
would be taking any drug or medication without first consulting
your physician.
Do Mexican pharmacies sell
to all parts of the USA ...even as far as Maine?
We have been informed
that these pharmacies do sell their products everywhere in the USA
and internationally as well.
I can't speak the language
Do I need an interpreter?
No. The foreign
pharmacies employ people that speak English. In Mexico we also
give you the names of the English speaking contacts to ask for.
Are the pharmacies in other
countries as well maintained as in the USA?
From what we have seen
there is no difference. They are quite modern and maintain very
high health standards. However, none of these pharmacies are
regulated by U.S. governmental agencies, and therefore, practices
and standards may vary widely from pharmacy to pharmacy.
How do I order?
When you first receive
your list, contact the pharmacies which are notated as having what
you are looking for. Search their Web Sites, e-mail them,
Write or call and tell them you are seeking such and such a
medication and ask for prices including shipping. All this
should be negotiated before giving them any payment. Remember to
order conservatively at first and use the generic/scientific names
provided.
How do I know if the
medications are safe?
We have found that most
medicines are imported from the U.S. to these Mexican pharmacies
and then reshipped back to us. U.S. pharmaceutical companies
also have 'satellite' plants in other countries. In any
case, you always have a choice between 'Brand' name and generic.
